Launching Singapore into the space scene, leading Singapore’s defense tech team, starting Singapore’s first women-only hackathon, kickstarters of Fintech, Medtech, Agritech companies, and more. Those were the likes that filled the inaugural SG 100 Women in Tech list. Therefore, we’re proud to say that the CEO of Meiro, Jana Marle Zizkova, is listed among them.   Jana-Marle-Zizkova-2.jpg The 850 Singapore based nominees had to be working in the fields of computer science, and information systems, telecommunications, hardware, and software engineering, artificial intelligence, data science, or tech product development. They were evaluated on their tech expertise, leadership, vision, community advocacy, and achievements. Additionally, their contributions had to be impactful, influential, and inspiring.

What did Jana do?

Jana, an avid data and diversity advocate with a computer science degree, checks all the boxes. She is the Co-Founder and volunteer MD for She Loves Data – a non-profit movement with 60 volunteers across 13 countries that have empowered over 10,000 women to start their journey in the tech world. Moreover, she does this on top of being our Co-Founder and CEO. In her free time, she is a mentor of a non-commercial mentoring project My Odyssey that supports future female leaders. And for fun, she circumnavigated the world on a 38ft sailboat between the years 2003-2005. “I am thrilled to witness the inaugural Singapore 100 Women in Tech go live. I am very humbled, proud, and honoured to be named among 99 inspirational women. Being part of the list is a great reassurance that what we do really matters. This is an important recognition for the Meiro team and all She Loves Data volunteer.” said Jana. “Soon, there will be so many female tech leaders. A separate list for one gender won't be necessary. However, until then, I hope to continue helping to inspire the next generation of girls and women to explore and enter the tech realm with excitement and no fear. I would like to thank the Singapore Computer Society and IMDA for backing this crucial initiative,” added our CEO.

What this means for Meiro

This not only highlights how our CEO is devoted to diversity but it also emphasises what Meiro believes in. It is in Meiro’s DNA to have principles of equal opportunity. Our Co-Founders are strong supporters of driving diversity in tech and helping more women start their careers in data. They walk the talk by having women make up 50% of the Meiro management. We, as believers in data democracy, look forward to seeing more diversity in the tech space. With more people having data access in organisations, we are closer to our vision. An environment where there are equal job and life opportunities among gender, age, nationality, and culture.
